Clear the Clutter and Organize Your Outdoor Shed

Tool sheds are really handy structures to have at home, not only are they nice to look at but they definitely can make your life a little more organized. If you are like most people who are unorganized and find your self trying to find tools when you most need them then you might want to step back and decide what you want to do with all the tools that you have. Sometimes it is as simple as pulling everything out of your tool shed and starting from scratch. In doing so you will find your mind a lot clearer then just going into the shed and trying to organize.

Walking into an already dirty and unorganized shed can make decision making harder. Clear the clutter then you will clear the mind. Pull ail your tools outside and sort them as you see fit. Everything that you don't use either throw out, give away or set it aside for later use. A good way to start your project is to sweep out or blow out the shed, this way it will be clean and ready for you to think. As you are cleaning think about sealing the cracks with caulk around shed to keep unwanted guests like bees or mice out.

Pegboards can be installed in the shed easily. It is the most organized method to hang your tools. After installing your pegboard use a magic marker to outline your tools so when you misplace them you can automatically put them in the most efficient manner. Planning the placement of them depends on what you use the most. Putting the tools that have the most use closer to the door may make it easier for you to just grab and go. Consider placing digging tools and cutting tools in the same area. If you have a riding lawn mower you have to consider the proximity to your tools. Do you want to park it close to the wall or in the middle of the shed. Either way it might help you decide where to put your tools.

One of the most important things to think about when you are done with our project is whether or not you want to lock it. Locking helps keep out unwanted people or kids or getting into our shed and causing harm to themselves, or to prevent them from stealing your tools.

When your project is finished you can feel better about yourself and probably feel less stressed. When the weather gets nice and time allows then you can start on organizing your shed.
